An online gathering to connect with the energy of Winter Solstice

As we approach the darkest days of the year, we’ll gather together in a nurturing virtual circle to attune ourselves to this powerfully transformative time. We’ll explore stories and archetypes which illustrate the transformative potential of time spent in the cave. We’ll talk about dreaming, and we’ll talk about the oracular. How can time spent in solitude and in the dark help us to listen, and to fall into the deep dreaming of this beautiful, animate earth? We’ll also explore the archetype of the Wise Old Woman – the solitary dweller in the dark who teaches us how to weave our dreams, and shows us the way back out into the light.

how it works

Our gathering took place via Zoom, in a format which enabled us to enjoy each other’s faces, and to break out into discussion groups to deepen our connections with other participants. As well as the usual blend of story, poetry and discussion, Heather Munro Pierce, founder of the Women’s BodyMystik Dance Tribe, led us in a session of embodied wisdom through dance.

The recording of this event is available for purchase; it includes a video of the main session, the chat transcript, and access to downloadable resources; we did not record the breakout sessions. The full recording is approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes long.
